In the process of using the Internet, it is difficult to build reputation and trust because people cannot communicate face to face and randomness is very strong. So, I believe that to establish reliability and participation in the Personal Learning Network (PLN), it is necessary to achieve through multi-faceted strategies. First of all, be sure to engage in discussions regularly, for example, by posting regularly every week or participating in regular topic discussions, as well as organizing face-to-face events to help build trust. Secondly, people can participate in some related activities or seminars, you can meet more new friends and expand your social network through this way. In addition, you can also encourage others to comment and feedback on their social networks, and regularly modify the network in response to feedback, so that you can show that you value the input of others. Of course, it is also necessary to follow up with those who have helped the network and send timely thank-you messages. Combining these strategies can slowly build a vibrant, reliable, and engaged network of individuals.
I think I’m slowly building a healthy relationship through PLN. The one I use the longest is Linkedin, where I often update some of my background information on my page. At the same time, I will also communicate more frequently with some professionals I am interested in and send timely messages of thanks or wishes. However, I haven’t used every strategy above well, and I think I can do better in the future to build a better, healthier online relationship.
PLN has made a big difference and helped me to be inclusive. First of all, in my daily life, I often hear about inclusivity or learn about it, I understand that it is a very important thing, but I rarely use it. But through PLN, I get to meet a lot of people with different backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities, and so on, which not only promotes richer and more diverse discussions, but also promotes empathy and enhances problem-solving skills. In addition, PLN also helps everyone have equal opportunities, for example, translation services, platforms with different preferences, and so on. I think inclusion is an ongoing process that requires constant learning and adaptation. PLNS need to be willing to evolve and respond to changing needs, actively seek feedback, and adjust as needed to ensure everyone feels valued.
Before launching a social media campaign, I define my topic, think about the specific problem I want to address, and the key message I want to get across. Then, identify interested groups and stakeholders and follow or get to know them through social media. At the same time, participate in conversations and discussions on relevant posts or discussion groups, or, of course, post relevant posts myself. It will be even better if I have the opportunity to attend relevant events and seminars, meet more people with expertise, and ask for help, advice and support. Among them, the most important thing is to maintain a very sincere attitude at all times.
